I followed what Sophie had asked and I went to the candle shop. I needed help to get Sophie back. I may be freaked out by what she is, but I want to know more of who she is. I really feel like I'm in love with her. I was not about to lose her and lose my chance with her.

I walked into the shop and I was overtaken by the smell of all the candles. I saw Ivy working, stocking up the shelves.

"Ivy, Sophie's in trouble," I nearly shouted, scaring her a little.

"Are you serious? Who took her," she asked.

"Dimetri I think was the name of the guy that took her," Ivy's face dropped.

"That bastard. We have to save her, Alex," Ivy grabbed my hand and locked up the store, "We have to get Minerva."

"Who's Minerva," I asked.

"You'll see. She can help us save her," Ivy got into her car and I got into mine and followed her away from the shop.

I sat in Ivy's living room as we waited for night fall. I thought it was stupid for us to be waiting around when Sophie could be in danger. The longer we didn't rescue her, the worse shape she could be in. Dimetri could be torturing her for all I know.

"Hello Ivy, where's Sophie," the red-head asked.

"Dimetri got her," Ivy replied.

"I couldn't do anything to stop them," I added.

"I knew he was going to target her when I couldn't protect her," she replied, "I'm Minerva if you haven't guessed yet. I was her mentor, helping her adjust to being a vampire and control her urges. I encouraged her to go out with you."

"So what do we do now," I asked.

"You are not getting involved, Alex. You're human and you'll be easy prey to them," Minerva replied.

"What about Ivy? She's human," I retorted.

"I'm a witch, Alex. I have magic that'll even the playing field," Ivy replied, "Just wait here for us. We're going to bring Sophie back."

I waited for hours for Ivy and Minerva to come back with Sophie. I was so nervous and scared that Sophie could be severely hurt. I even feared for Ivy. I felt my heart race and pound in my chest. My palms started to sweat and my hands started to shake. I saw the world around me blur. I was having an anxiety attack and I couldn't stop it.

"Alex," I heard a familiar voice call out to me.

"Please be alright, Sophie. Please," I sobbed.

"Alex, I'm safe," I heard the voice again, "I'm right here. Just breathe for me."

I looked to my side to find Sophie. She had blood on her face and clothes, but she looked fine. If anything she looked like they had tried to drain her to force her to lose control. She smiled at me as she held onto my arm. Sophie wrapped her arms around me and stroked my hair as I tried to regain control.

"Just breathe, Alex. I won't hurt you. I'm safe again. Just focus on the rise and fall of my chest," she coached me. After a while, I finally came back down from my attack.

"What happens now," I asked her.

"I protect you and keep you safe from my world and you hopefully share with me more of yours," she replied.

"I don't want to lose you, Sophie," I told her.

"Then shut up and kiss me," Sophie smirked.

I shook my head before I kissed Sophie. I was not going to let her go anytime soon. I was going to help her fight off Dimetri and his goons. Maybe I could try to find a way to cure Sophie of being a vampire.
