Jack’s POV

I was watching her as she interacted with Alex; she was happy and had a smile on her face…a smile that was only half real. Yeah sure Alex had cheered her up since our chat but you could still tell that it was all bothering her, eating away at her. That I couldn’t blame her for, she thought her past had forgotten about her, she thought her childhood friends had blocked her from her life…but now everything was coming back. I knew deep down I should have told Alex, to let him know all the shit the love of his life was going through, but Rebecca didn’t want me to, and a part of me knew she would have to be the one to tell him.

Now I know what you’re probably thinking, oh he’s still in love with her isn’t he? Well no I’m not, I’m just so protective over her, when Alex forgot her, she reached rock bottom, it was then I found out about her self-harm problem and how truly depressed she was, and how much she needed someone. Over the years she had done so well, yeah she had relapses here and there but she was truly healing, and I wasn’t going to let anything or anyone mess with that. Especially a prick like Max.

“Jack?” questions Rian, pulling me out of my thoughts.

“Yeah mate?” I ask turning to face him.

“You alright man? You zoned out then?” he asks raising an eyebrow.

“Yeah I’m fine, was just thinking.” I reply chuckling.

Quickly he places a hand to my forehead joking “wow you thinking, you ill man?”

I push his hand away laughing before standing up.

“I’m gonna go walk around for a while.” I explain walking out of the door. I hear a chorus of byes as I step out of the bus and begin my walk.

I walked in between the buses, breathing in the sweet night air, there were no parties tonight and for that I was grateful, everyone needed a rest for tomorrow, we had to show the fans how much we missed them, and the only way to do that was to put on one hell of a show. I continue walking, letting my mind wander when I came face to face with someone I wasn’t expecting, someone all on their own.

“Oh hey Jack.” They say smiling.

“Don’t hey Jack me, you’re a complete fucking dickhead.” I mutter, anger controlling my words. I didn’t give a fuck if anyone heard, the sight of this person well and truly pissed me off.

“I’m guessing Rebecca told you everything.” He mumbles; his face dropping and his body shaking slightly.

“No…Josh told me, he was worried about her because you’re a fucking dickhead Max.” I reply crossing my arms.

“Look its nothing like it seems okay. The past is all fucked up. I never meant any of it, I just, I don’t know; it became all fucked up.” He mumbles running a hand through his hair.

“No you’re the fucked up one, she just lost her dad, you knew she loved you, yet you just fucking ignored her and worst, you made your friends, no wait her friends, ignore her as well, right when she needed you the most. You were lucky me, Alex and the guys were there to pick up the pieces, because she hit rocked bottom.” I snarl.

“What do you mean?” he questions worriedly.

“She fucking cut, that’s what.” I reply with venom in my voice. Suddenly his face drops.

“But she was doing so well when she left…” he breaths out.

“WHAT? YOU FUCKING KNEW SHE HAD A SELF HARM PROBLEM AND STILL IGNORED HER? YOU KNEW SHE WAS THAT VULNERABLE AND PUSHED HER AWAY.” I yell grabbing him by the collar.

“Jack it wasn’t like that.” He mumbles trying to prise himself from my grip.

“Oh really? Because it sure fucking seems like that.” I mumble keeping hold of him.

“Look please just let me explain to her and apologise-”

“Oh no you don’t; you stay away from her, she doesn’t need your bullshit anymore and I am not letting you get in the middle of her and Alex.” I reply staring him in the eye before letting go of him.

“No Jack, I am going to talk to her-” he has no chance to finish his sentence before I launch my fist at him punching him right in the nose, narrowly avoiding breaking his nose. At this point Josh comes from round the corner, witnessing what has happened. He begins to walk forward to Max but I send him a glare causing him to stop.

“Now that would have been from Alex if he knew what you did to her, but he doesn’t, so I suggest unless you want to be killed, you just stay away alright?” I mutter before turning round and storming off...little prick.

Josh’s POV

I watch Jack storm off back to his bus, truly shocked at what I had just witnessed. I never thought Jack could be violent, or even punch like that, but I get the reason why he done that. I glance over at Max who is stood still shocked clutching his face.

“He won’t let me apologise…he won’t even let me near her.” he mutters watching him walk off.

“Maybe it’s for the best, she obviously doesn’t want to see you.” I mumble putting my hands in my pockets.

“But-”

“No Max, he’s right, you need to stay away, she’s happy now, and you shouldn’t ruin that just because you still love her.” I reply rolling my eyes.

“I don’t still love her.” he replies glancing over at me. Yeah right. You could tell by the look on his face that he loves her.

“Yeah sure whatever, just stay away okay? Now let’s go ice your bloody face as Jack by looks of it can pack a punch.” I retort.

“How do we hide it from the fans, we don’t need them worrying.” He asks as we start to walk back.

“Well knowing Dan he probably has something on the bus to help."
