Rebecca’s POV
I walked to Pierce The Veil’s bus, humming the theme tune to adventure time under my breath, it didn’t matter that I was 23 years old, that show was my life, I even had my own version of Finn’s hat that I would wear when I watched it. Coming to the front door of the bus I knocked gently.
“Who is it?” came the strained voice of Tony Perry from inside.
“Room service!” I yelled back in my best Mexican accent, sounding a bit like Victoria.
“Room service? I swear to fucking god Vic!” Tony yelled back before the door was pulled open by an angry Tony. His anger soon turned to surprise when he noticed who it was in fact.
“Surprise!” I screamed smiling, before a similar smile appeared on Tony’s face.
“Becca?” he exclaimed smiling before pulling me into a hug.
“The one and only.” I giggled hugging back.
“Come in come in!” he exclaimed standing out of the way for me to enter the bus. I walked into the bus and sat down on one of the couches, Tony closing the door behind me before joining me on the couch.
“What are you doing here?” he questions.
“Long story short, Alex pulled some strings and I am now on this tour as AP’s photographer.” I replied smiling.
“That’s awesome dude, this tour is going to be so much fun.” He spoke, a small chuckle on the end. I sat staring at him for a couple of minutes before questioning.
“Vic told me.” I spoke, my voice barely above a whisper. There was a part of me that didn’t want to bring this topic up as I didn’t want to upset Tony, but a part of me also knew I had to talk to him about it. He sighed and rested his head in his hands, deep breaths escaping his mouth. “What happened?” I asked placing a hand on his back, comforting him.
“I…I don’t know.” He speaks up, his voice starting to crack as tears threaten his eyes. “I mean when we were on tour I could feel that me and her were starting to drift apart, it was like we hardly had time for each other anymore. I would also invite her out to tour but she’d always say she was working, I thought nothing of it cause I knew you were like that with Alex. But anyway the phone calls started getting less and less and we would go 2 or 3 days without speaking and then when we did speak, the conversations were strained.” He continues, tears now falling at his eyes. I nod at him to let him know to continue.
“However when we came back from tour, everything went back to normal, we had more time for each other, we was making love everynight and life became perfect, I put the door down to a little bump in the road. I was even planning to marry her!” he yells the last bit smashing his fist on the side as I pull him into a quick hug.
“How did you find out?” I whisper wiping his tears away.
“I went to the shops one day…to buy an engagement ring for her….when I got home I realised she wasn’t in the living room. Then I heard a noise from upstairs like a grunt, I thought she was doing exercise or something…I walked into the bedroom and found her in bed with another guy.” He finishes, mumbling the ending. I gasp before pulling Tony into a hug as he cried. I didn’t say anything, I just let him cry, knowing he needed to let his emotions out and this being the only healthy way.
I mumbled a couple of shhs, indicating he didn’t need to tell me more and that I could kinda guess what went down due to Tony’s bruised knuckles. I felt strangely proud at that moment, knowing Tony wasn’t idiot enough to just let the boy leave.
After a while Tony’s tears had stopped and we sat speaking, me catching Tony up on life and work and him telling me about some new riffs he had wrote. We soon decided to put films on, and I and Tony being the geeks we are watched Star Wars.
Around an hour later I woke to Vic shaking me awake, I looked around to notice Tony was asleep and the film had ended. I smiled sheepishly at Vic.
“I’m guessing every heart to heart with you two ends with a Star Wars marathon?” Vic asks.
“I love how you know us Vicky.” I smile tiredly.
“Yeah, yeah whatever, I rang Alex told him you were here, he said send you home when you was awake as he’s missing you.” Vic replied before pulling a fake sicky face.
I giggle before standing up and stretching, causing my back to click. “I better head back then, you know what Alex is like, while he doesn’t mind me hanging with you guys, he can get lonely.” I retort laughing causing Vic to give a chuckle.
“Do you want me to walk you back?” asks Vic studying my face.
“Nah, you’re fine, it’s only a short and everyone around here is like family anyway.” I reply before receiving a nod from Vic and a hug goodbye. I yell goodbye to everyone on the bus before exiting.
When I step out the bus, a cool breeze hits my face immediately cooling me down and causing me to smile, I don’t know why but twilight was my favourite time of the day, probably because on hot days it was when the heat would cool down and the soft glow of the sinking sun made everything have a beautiful glow.
I walk on ahead smiling to myself before I bump into someone roughly causing me to fall over.
“Oh my god I am so sorry!” comes the voice of the culprit, surprisingly a British voice. The guy holds out a hand and I take it, pulling myself up.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t looki-” I reply looking up before stopping mid sentence coming face to face with someone I thought I never see in again.
“Rebecca is that you?” he asks shocked.
“Josh.” I breathe out.
