Never Grow Up

Getting Ready for the Baby

The years have flown by for us. Kylee's seven now and currently at school. Jasmin and I are in our living room, Jasmin currently was seven months pregnant. Jasmin and I got married a few months after Kylee's birthday and Jasmin adopted Kylee so she was her mother. Kylee and I still go to Kelsey's grave.

"How excited are you to have the new father feeling, Alex," Jasmin asked while I rubbed her bump softly.

"I pretty excited. Kylee's seven and I feel she should become a big sister now. You know, this would have been the perfect for me to have tried to settle down and have Kylee. Life had a way of rushing me," I told her.

"And you know what, you are an awesome father to her. You are the most loving husband. Alex, you are the greatest man I have ever met. Never doubt that," Jasmin kissed me quickly as the door opened and Kylee walked in and tossed back pack on the floor.

"Hey Ky, how was school today," I asked.

"I got a lot of homework," Kylee replied as she sat down next to me on the couch.

"What subjects," Jasmin asked. Jasmin was better at helping Kylee with her math and history homework while I helped with her English and science.

"I have a book report, a spelling and grammar worksheet, and some math problems," she replied.

"Well let's get your work done quickly so we can go grab a movie and some pizza," Jasmin got up carefully from the couch, watching her balance since she was so far into her pregnancy that her center of gravity changed.
Once her homework was done, Kylee joined Jasmin and I to watch the movie Jasmin picked to watch. With the baby coming in a few months, I wanted to spend as much one on one time with Kylee as possible. With the new baby coming soon, the baby would get all the attention for a while.

"Kylee," I whispered into her ear.

"Yeah Daddy," she replied.

"You know that with the baby things will change around here, right," I asked her.

"Yeah," she replied.

"I want you to know that I will love you always. The baby will need me and Jasmin first. But I will always make time for you, I promise," I kissed her hair softly as I held to me.

"I know, Daddy. I'll help with the baby as best as I can," Kylee replied.

"You make me so proud, Kylee. Your mom would be proud of you too," I told her.

"I bet you do too, Daddy," she replied.

Comments

I just read what you have of this, and absolutely love it. I'm not sure if that last chapter you posted was kind of meant as a final chapter; I guess it could work in a way. But the story is awesome and I really liked what you have of it.
It's been a minute since you've updated, so it's probably asking a lot to update again, but if you weren't finished with this and one day want to update again, I will be here to read. :) Although as it is it could be seen as conclusive.
Idk, but I just wanted to leave this comment letting you know I enjoyed what you did have of this and think you're a great writer. The story is very sweet. :)
