More Specifically, Me Maxine
Bad Luck Charm
Maxine’s POV
We make it to Pete’s house safely since Justin nearly killed us all after almost passing out at the wheel so Razor took the wheel while being fired up about almost dying and still being mad at Pete, the perfect combination for driving.
“Nock, nock ,nock Pete. You ordered Razor blades so you get them.” Razor screams at the locked grey door.
“Oh god Razor, do we have to hold you back from killing him?” Leda asks.
“He knows I came here to kick his ass so he’s gonna get it. I say what I mean and do it. That's why I brought this rock in my purse.” She says, holding up a boulder.
“That’s a boulder! Martin help me hold her back.” Matt says, Martin following.
Another car comes up in the driveway with a guy looking like Pete Wentz coming out of it.
“Hey Razor and all you peoples that I don’t-” Pete says, then getting a shocked face.
“Oh shit, Razor put the rock down and don’t kill me.” He says, hands up and walking backwards.
Razor breaks the grip of the two holding her back with the boulder still in hand.
“Tell me why you did it!”
“Did what?”
“You know what you did, we just talked a few days ago. Maxine get over here. Pete has something to say before he has no face!” My crazed friend says.
I walk over to the driveway where the scared Pete Wentz and the blue haired madness is, never have I ever seen Razor this mad, but she did tell me that she would protect me in every way possible back when we first met so I can’t complain.
“Tell Maxine what you did and why, her dad left because of you now fix it or no face for you!”
“Maxine I’m going to tell you the dead truth, your mom wanted me to do it, she threatened my life. She has mental problems it wasn’t my fault that he left when he did. I wanted to be there after the fight but Harper wanted nothing to do with me by then. She told me more times than you can count in those two years that she wanted nothing to do with you in general. She regrets your existence. She wants you gone, she always has and I know she always will because she texts me when she drunk about you. If you don’t believe me I can show you the texts because she just sent me some when I was just out today. I can’t tell you much about your dad though because I know practically nothing about him other than that he was in a band and met him online through Omegle. Your parents were young anyway, Harper had you when she was seventeen and your dad was eighteen. She thought she was in love with him but something happened that I don’t even know about, only she knows and she needs help because terrible people get rid of amazing people. I can’t tell you anything else Maxine, that’s all I have and I wish to tell you more but I can’t and if I was allowed to help you out when you were younger I would have and you wouldn’t be in this mess but I know either way you would go off and find your real dad in general. I’d do the same but your dad cares can tell you that, I bet he’s missing you right now. ” Pete says, with tears in his eyes and a fake smile to give me one but I don’t smile, I frown and cry.
“So she never cared at all? So does everyone hate me and I was just a screwed up mess from a teen pregnancy?” I cry, then running off on random streets not hearing footsteps chasing after me, showing that no one cares.
I continue running till my legs get tired and take a seat on a bench near a church, tears still flowing greatly as I scrunch my legs up to my chest.
“Why are you crying little one?” A voice says, scaring me.
“It’s nothing, you shouldn’t worry anyway.” I say, wiping my tears away to look up at the tall raven haired man who was the cause of the voice.
“It’s not nothing, little girls shouldn’t be crying on the side of the road near a church.”
“I’m not little, I’m seventeen.” I respond.
“And I’m thirty so your little to me.” The strange man says, ruffling my hair.
“Hey! Rule one, no touching the hair. Who are you anyway?” I ask.
“You seem a lot like my buddy, and me? Just a nobody, but call me Jack. Who are you?”
“Maxine, I’m not from around here. My crazy friends, boyfriend and I are on a road trip to look for someone.”
“Might I ask who?” Jack says politely.
“Just a person who’s been missing for a long time, I miss him a lot Jack.” I say, tearing up.
“Hey it’s okay. My husband is doing the same thing actually, he misses her so much.
I’m helping him look with our two best friends.” He says, pulling me into his chest and rubbing my back.
“Really? I’m not alone?” I ask, tipping my head up to look at him.
“No one is ever alone sweetheart, tell me honestly, do you think your friends and boyfriend hate you?”
“Yes, I ran away from my problems at the same time and when I ran they didn’t come after me, I really am alone.”
“Maxine where are you? Come back we miss you!” Justin yells. “Bug, we care about you. Martin is crying because he thinks you died and won’t move from Pete’s lawn!”
“Is that your boyfriend, you after all are Maxine.” Jack asks.
“No, it’s my crazy friend Justin, be careful he’s overprotective of me, he’s like the brother I never had.”
“Maxine! I found you, now get away from this creep.” Justin says, walking towards Jack and I.
“Justin he isn’t a creep, he’s a good guy. Now respect my feelings I know you’re over protective but let me fly!” I yell, all emotions exploding.
“Max calm down, it’s not a big deal.” Jack tells me.
“How is it not a big deal?”
“It just isn’t, I have tons of haters anyway.

Darling please calm down, we care about you.
“Ugg not now!” I scream pacing around.
“Maxine what’s wrong?” Justin asks.
“This number has been texting me since we’ve gotten on this road trip to look for him! What’s this guys problem and why the hell is he stalking me!” I say, on the verge of ripping my hair out.
“Can I see the phone?” Justin asks.
“No.” I say, standing my ground.
“What did you say?”
“I just said no, now leave me alone Justin!” I yell at him.
He grabs my arm and starts dragging me towards back Pete’s house.
“Jack help me!” I scream as the pain from Justin hurls through my body.
“Get your hands off of her, no man lays a hand on a woman like that!” Jack yells, running to catch up with Justin, then blocking him from going any further.
“Why should I listen to you? You're just going to hurt her.” Justin says, still gripping my arm, making it almost bleed since his nails are sinking into it.
“Unlike you I know how to treat a girl right.”
“Prove it.”
“Justin please let go. I- I’m bleeding and you grabbed the arm with my cuts.” I cry.
“There’s my proof. Now lay off of her.” Jack says, myself mentally thanking him.
“Never.” Justin says.
“Justin I’m begging you, let go of me.” I cry harder as I see the blood slipping between his fingers.
“Maxine, this may hurt a bit.” Jack says, me not knowing what he will do.
Jack rips my arm from Justin’s strong hand and places me on his shoulders.
“Thank you Jack.” I say, sniffing.
“Girls shouldn’t be in pain from scum like him. I’d keep away from him for now on.” Jack spits in Justin’s face.
“Justin I don’t want you on this road trip anymore, you know how I am and I can’t let you hurt me anymore.” I say.
“I only came to hook up with Razor and talk to the famous people we were going to meet. I can’t believe you really though I loved her. Also give Razor this note, I’m going back to Virginia. See you never again bitch!” He yells at me, no sympathy whats so ever and walking the other way from Pete’s house.
“I hate you Justin Kyle Highland! I never want to see you and your stupid face again!” I scream at him.
“Fuck you!” He yells back at me, flipping me off.
“Has that douche always been that way?” Jack asks me.
“He was like a brother to me, and he betrayed it all. I’ve been betrayed so many times, why now? I haven’t even been gone a week from my home, why? Why does everything bad happen to me? Jack you should stay away from me, I’m a bad luck charm.” I say.
“I won’t leave you, I do have to get back to my buddies on the hunt but I’ll give you my number so you won’t be alone.”
“Thank you Jack. Do you know who Pete Wentz is?”
“Bassist from Fall Out Boy if I’m correct. Why?”
“My friends are at his house now, Razor, who is like my sister knows him and is about ready to kick his ass for something he did a long time ago with my mom. If I gave you directions could you bring me to his house?”
“Yeah, sure why not. Are you comfy on top of my shoulders darling? I could put you down if you like.”
“No I like your shoulders, they’re squishy. Squish, squish.”
“Whatever you say. Now come on, lets go to the people who love you.” Jack says and I give him the directions to Pete’s.
“Maxine I can’t tell you how worried I was about you! Martin has been being a little bitch crying over there. Also who’s your friend and where the hell is Justin?” Razor runs up to Jack and I.
“This Jack, I met him on a bench by a church when he saw me crying and made me feel better. Also Justin left, he hurt me and wanted me to give you this.” I say holding out the note. “Jack saved me from Justin hurting me.”
“Well Jack, I want to say thanks for protecting Maxine, she’s been through a lot in the past ten years since someone important left her.” Razor says, grabbing the note and reading it while Jack speaks.
“It’s no problem. My buddies and I are looking for someone as well, he misses her very much. We were going on a road trip too so we might as well find her too. Crazy how ten years also passed too.” Jack says.
“And now I’m boyfriendless. Oh well, Justin was a jerk anyway. Plus he hurt you so I’d break up with him anyway. Screw him.” The blue haired girl says nonchalantly.
“Down you go Maxine.” Jack says, putting me down. “So, may I meet this boyfriend of yours?”
“If you want to, do you know Martin Johnson from Boys Like Girls?”
“I think. Is that him?”
“Yeah. Come on, lets go see him.” We walk over to where Martin is, still crying and Matt and Leda trying to comfort him.
“Martin come on, it’s okay. Look, Maxine is back anyway.” Matt says, pointing at me.
Martin runs up to me and gives me a huge hug and spins me around.
“I thought you were gone forever, don’t scare me like that. Also who’s that?” My boyfriend says, putting me on the ground.
“That’s Jack, he made me feel better and helped me from Justin who hurt me.” I say, showing my bloody arm.
“Thank you for making my girlfriend feel better, I owe you one.” Martin says to Jack.
“It’s no problem, no man should lay hands on a girl. Plus I’d do it for anyone.” Jack says.
“No really, I owe you, Anything.”
“How about telling me you will protect Maxine with all of your heart and give her all the love you can to her. Oh and take my number, just to keep in cont-” Jack says but getting a phone call, giving us a one minute sign and letting us hear what he says.
“Yes dear?”
“No-no I’m safe. I just met some new friends and helped a girl.”
“I’m not dating her baby, she’s too young for me and has a boyfriend. You know Martin Johnson from Boys Like Girls.”
“I’ll be back soon, and then I’ll give you kisses and cuddles.”
“Yes, I promise. Would you even like me to some ice cream?”
“Okay baby boy, I’ll be at the bus in twenty minutes.”
“I love you too, goodbye.” Jack says finishing up the call.
“I’m terrible sorry for that, my husband called. He’s the one my buddies and I are helping out find someone.” Jack says, apologizing.
“Hey it’s no problem. I bet you love him very much.” Martin says.
“I can’t tell you how much I love him, it’s impossible. I’d show you a picture if you like.”
“Sure!” I say.
He takes out a photo of him and a man sitting on a beach that looks very similar to the one back in Virginia.
“That beach, it looks the one my dad would always take me to when I was younger. Is that Augusta Beach in Virginia?” I ask.
“Why yes it is, crazy how my husband would always take his daughter there too. I best be going though, he gets lonely when I’m not around him. Here’s my number.” Jack says, rushing his sentence and giving me his number before he runs off.
“Jack wait! What’s his name? Your husbands’!”
“Nothing of your concern!” Jack yells in the faint distance leaving me confused.
Jack’s POV
I knew Maxine, she is my husband’s daughter as well as mine. I couldn’t tell her his name though. She needs to find out on her own, not today though. Soon darling you will know, but not now.
“Jacky! You’re back!” My husband says as I walk onto the large bus with our ice cream.
“Why hello there.” I say, kissing his nose.
“Nose, nose.” He replies, scrunching his head and moving it side to side.
“Want something cold?”
“Om noms?”
“Yes om noms.” I say to him, using our way of saying ice cream.
We walk to our bunk and cuddle together when he asks me something.
“Did you “protect” her from Justin?”
“Yes I did, he worked out the plan very well. Just a few more weeks of the plan though. Then we get to see her.”
“He used the fake blood though right? Because if he hurt our baby girl I’m going to be mad at him.”
“Yes he did, she was very scared. I was getting scared and I knew about the plan.”
“And Razor read the note?”
“She knows everything now.”
“I’ll text her now. But I still hate my ex-wife.”
“She was bitch to you and I will never forgive her.”
“I texted her, wanna see? I started adding clues too.” My adorable husband says, showing me the text.

Notes
Well now you know that Maxine's mom was never fit for a child, also I remember in an earlier chapter I said her name was Lisa but to clarify as from the prologue her name is Harper. Also I know that Pete is 34 but for this story pretend he is in his 20'sOh and try to guess the code in the text messages coming up, but it really killed me to type all of those grammar mistakes.

OH AND I start school on the 27th so I'm trying to write tons of chapters so that I can just upload them because I'm going to keep a 3.0 grading average all year so I'll be busy studying during the school week. And September 20th-23ish will possibly have little updates since I'm going to Nickie's house in VA which means I won't be on the internet due to spending time with her.
Thanks so much! Stay tuned in for the sequel that should be up by next week!
