Alex Gaskarth is my Best Friend

7 years old.

I sat on the side walk by my house using my purple chalk on the gray area.

“You are my sunshine..” I hummed as I drew a sunshine and a house with small stick people. My attention was captured by a truck squealing. I looked up and my eyes widen. A small red car was attached with a huge moving van. A small little boy with shaggy hair and a older woman probably his mommy stepped out and smiled at the house. She turned around and looked at me and smiled. Her smiled was nice so I returned it showing my missing front tooth.

She turned around as did I. I went back to my picture. I started to draw some grass and flowers.

“You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.”

“You make me happy when skyes are gray.” Someone with an accent that was cute. I turned around to see the shaggy boy with brown hair. He was really cute.

“You’ll never know dear how much I love you please don’t”

“Take my sunshine away.” He finished. I finally got the accent! He was british just like Harry Potter!

“Hello, your really pretty!!” He exclaimed and kneeled down next to me picking up a piece of blue chalk.

“Thank you, I’m Capri.” He looked at me and smiled.

“And I’m Alex, Alexander William Gaskarth.” He said telling me his full name.

“Well, I’m Capri Drew Eden.” I said as I watched him draw 2 stick figures one with a skirt and then he drew a heart around both of them. He put a C over the one with a skirt and an A over the regular one.

“This is you and this is me.” He said setting down my chalk.

“Its pretty.” I said also setting down mine.

“I moved here from England.” He said.

“Right there?” I asked pointing to the house across from mine.

“Mhm, I have an idea you wanna go in a play hide ‘n’ go seek?”

“Good idea!!” I said putting my chalk in the box and getting up. I wiped my hands on my skirt and followed Alex.

“Mummy, I’m going to play with my new friend Capri!” He shouted.

“Sure sweetie.” She mumbled as glass clanged in the kitchen.

“Come on!” He said grabbing my hand and pulling me up the cream carpeted stairs. I liked holding his hand. I smiled as he pulled me along.

“Alright you can hid in my new room and then I will come find you!” He walked into the bathroom and I looked around the room he had left me in. It was painted blue and green with a twin bed. There was a small guitar on a stand and some picture frames. I slipped my shoes off and jumped in his bed. His covers were so thick I was sure they would cover me and look like nothing ever happened. I covered in it and inhaled.

“I’m cominnnnngg!” He said as he opened the door.

“Hmmmmmmm.” He said I could hear his voice coming closer and I held my breath in.

Then suddenly I was laughing and pulling the covers off. Alex’s little hands were tickling.

“Alex !!” He smiled.

“I founnnndd you Capriiiiii!!” I giggled more and more until he stopped and just looked at me.

“You wanna be my best friend?” Alex asked moving my hair.

“Ya, I would like that.” I said. More happy then I had been in a while.
