Did Alex just say he loved me? Even if he didn't mean it, it felt pretty good to hear it from him. I get onto the bus and put in my ear buds. I listen to music, but i can't focus on it because I can't get my mind off of Alex.

Why can't i just come out and tell Alex I like him? I mean, i know he's straight, but seriously! Maybe the thought of it being awkward between us is scaring me. I can see that happening. I sigh as the bus pulls up to my house.

I get off and run into the house. Alex is still in my mind and won't leave. It's kind of annoying.... in a good way. If that's possible. I sigh sitting on the couch.

Saturday comes along after a long week of watching Lisa all over Alex and awkward conversations with Alex.

I text Alex asking when he's coming. He texts back saying by seven. I change into a pair of skinny jeans and a grey t-shirt. I put on a pair of hytops and head downstairs and see my mom in the living room watching one of her TV shows.

"Hey, mom." i say. She turns to me and smiles.

"Where are you going?" she asks getting up and walking over to me.

"A party at this kid Drew's house. Everyone's going and Alex is taking me." i say. She smiles and nods, no questions asked. "You're not going to interrogate me?"

"I was going to, but then you mentioned Alex and it became clear." she says. I nod and laugh.

"He's coming at Seven so in... about ten minutes." i say. She smiles again and I walk into the kitchen. I'm starving. I eat a small snack and then i get a text.

Alex
I'm here! Come on, butthead.

I smile and head outside. I hop into his car and he smiles at me. I feel butterflies and he pulls out of the driveway.

"Okay... so... i didn't mention this before, but LIsa wanted to go on a double date with you and me. Me and her, you and Heather," Alex explains. Fuck. The thought of seeing that blonde in tight clothes, touching me, does not sound like a good time. "I won't go if you don't want to. I don't want you to be uncomfortable."

"Um... If you want to see Lisa, that's fine." i say. He shakes his head.

"I can always see Lisa another time." he says. I nod. Thank god! We park on the street across from Drew's house.

"Damn." i say. We get out and we head towards the house. Alex playfully throws an arm around my shoulders. i get butterflies and immediately forget how to speak. Odd right?

We walk in and are immeditately get offered drinks. I deny, but Alex is all for it. Of course he is. He'll do anything if it means goofing off.

After maybe ten minutes he's wasted and all over everyone. It's kind of funny. Then he walks over to me leaning against the wall. I smile at him and he starts mumbling things. There's a lot of things i don't understand with what he says until he says three words that really throw me off.

"Hey, Rian." Alex slurs. I laugh at him. "Can i tell you something?"

"Um, sure." i say knowing it's probably just something i won't even understand. That is until he says it.

"I love you." he says. I look at him, wide eyed in shock. What? "You're so cute and your smile is adorable."

"Alex... I think it's time to go." I say. He shakes his head. "Yeah, let's go." I'm shaking now. I lead him outside and to the car tossing him into the passenger's seat.

I drive him home and lead him inside, knowing his parents aren't home at the moment. I take him to his room set him in bed and he's out like a light.

I quickly run home and into my room trying to process what the hell happened at that party.
