Damn it! I knew he was straight. He likes Lisa now, but the least i could do is support him and Lisa no matter how much it hurts. He looks at me and I smile. He's honestly adorable and hot and... why can't he be gay?

"So, Rian. Wanna come? I know Jack isn't huge on the mall, so I thought maybe you could come." Alex says. I nod. "Awesome! Are you free tomorrow?"

"Yeah!" i say. i'm happy now. Alex wants to spend time with me. "I can't drive though." I say sounding embarrassed.

"I'll drive." he says. I nod. "So, it's settled! I'll call Lisa!" he gets up, dials her number and walks upstairs. I just watch him and sigh.

"You alright?" Jack asks. I shrug.

"I don't know. Alex is straight and I have no chance with him." I sigh. He sits next to me and pats my back.

"Well, all i can say is wait it out. Maybe he does like you. Maybe he doesn't. We'll see." Jack says. I nod and Alex comes downstairs.

"Cool!" Alex yells. I laugh and my phone buzzes.

"I have to go." I say. Alex pouts and I shrug. "I have a family thing. Sorry! See you tomorrow Alex! See ya Jack."

"Bye!" Jack says.

"See ya!"

I head home and realize I couldn't get Alex off my mind. His laugh, his smile, even him pouting. He's goddamn cute!

---Next Day---

I'm in the living room watching MTV and I hear a car horn. Alex is here. I instantly feel butterflies. I look in the mirror at my buzz cut. Looks nice. I feel self-conscious and my mom walks in.

"You look fine, Ry." she says. I look at her. "Nervous?"

"Little bit. I don't want to say I like him and makes things awkward and knowing me that will probably happen." i explain. She hugs me and I hear a car horn again.

"Better get going." she says. I nod and walk outside.

I get in the car and sit in the passenger's seat. Alex smiles at me.

"YOU GOT A HAIRCUT?" he yells. I nod and laugh.

"Yes I did." I say. He pulls out and we head to the mall. "So anything happening between you and Lisa?" I ask trying to fill the awkward silence.

"Not yet." Alex says sounding disappointed. "How do you ask a girl out?"

"I don't know. I've never had a girlfriend." I say. I've had a boyfriend.

"Really?" he asks as we pull into the parking lot. I nod and he looks at me. "I don't believe you. You've had to have had a girlfriend."

"Nope." I say. He sighs. "Well, let's go."

We get out and head to the food court. Lisa sees Alex and her face lights up. Her friend looks at me and smiles. Ugh. A girl is into me.

"Dude, Heather's checking you out! Go talk to her!" Alex says. i notice she's wearing really tight clothes. Ugh! Gross.

"Why?" i ask. He looks at me. "Alright... fine." i sit next to her and she smiles.

"Hi! You're Rian right?" she asks sitting closer to me. I glance at Alex who's talking to Lisa and laughing. This is going to be a long day. I nod. "Cool!" she says getting all touchy-feely. I scoot an inch or two away from her.

"I prefer to get to know someone before they start touching me." i say. "And preferably a guy." i mutter under my breath. i look at her and make sure she didn't hear.

"Oh, c'mon." she says in a flirty way. I'm not digging this girl. I don't like girls like that anyway! This is disgusting and uncomfortable. "Don't pretend you don't love me."

"I-" i stop when i see Lisa pull Alex to the side. He leans against the wall and Lisa kisses him. I feel my heart drop into my stomach and I bite my lip. They pull away and Alex glances at me and I smile at him. I turn my head and the smile fades.

"Rian-"

"I'll be right back." i say. I walk over to the bathroom and see Alex watching me. I stand in the bathroom looking into the mirror and sigh.

Okay he is straight and there's no way i'll have a chance with him. I was right after all.
