Oh my god.
I lean on my kitchen counter my heart beating loudly in my chest. While I wait for the hot pockets to bake. Rian was fucking staring at me. I don’t even know. I mean look at him. He’s not… he’s like the straightest guy I know.
I feel my stomach tighten and fill with butterflies. I feel so hyper-aware of my entire body.

I pull my phone out of my pocket absent-mindedly and look at the text. Of course it’s from Lisa. She’s been texting me all the time.

From: Lisa
Hi! Some people are going to the mall in a few days. You should join me. I mean us ;)

I have to admit I like shopping and that girl needs some serious help with her clothes. I could ask Rian to come too…

Sure, can I bring someone?

From: Lisa
Like who?

I was thinking Rian or Jack.

From: Lisa
Yeah of course. ;)

Text me when and where we should meet you.

I pull the hot pockets out of the oven and shove my phone back in my pocket.
“Hurry the dildo up!” Jack screams from downstairs. I hear Rian chuckle which only makes the butterflies return stronger then ever. Rian sits on the couch flipping his drum sticks between his fingers absent mindedly. Jack sits on the couch flipping through TV channels looking bored.
“Gosh Jack calm it,” I laugh and set the tray with the hot pockets down on the table in front of the both of them. I take my seat in between Jack and Rian. My thigh brushes up against his and I cant help the rush of blood to my cheeks. Damn it. I notice Rian glance at me and smile politely.
“Lisa texted me.” I blurt out just trying to make conversation,
“So? Gotta make a booty call?” Jack grins, Rian lets out a scoff and shakes his head.
“She invited us to the mall. With her and some other people.” I smile at Rian.
“Cool.” Jack spits through a mouthful of hot pocket,
“What’s going on with you and Lisa?” Rian smiles and tears into his own pocket.
“I don’t know. Nothing yet I guess.” I shrug.
“Well she’s hot. Think she’s into you?” Rian focuses on his food as he speaks.
“Please. Lisa has had a thing for Alex since eighth grade.” Jack grins. “I’m surprised you haven’t done anything about it yet.”
“What you think I should ask her out?” I chuckle at Jack. Honestly the idea of me being in a serious relationship with a girl feels weird.
“Totally.” Jack smiles,
“What do you think Ry?” I blush, “Rian. Sorry.”
“Sure. Maybe you’ll get lucky.” My heart shatters in my chest as he smiles at me. That’s it. No way in hell is he going to be into me if he WANTS me dating other people.

Awesome.
