“Alex,” Jack, Rian, and their friend Zack practiced every day, they knew their band had potential and Alex had friends in high places that had gotten someone from a record company to come watch them play on Saturday night. Alex could not focus on anything, but Jack’s voice had caught his attention, “have you talked to Anastasia?” Alex only shook his head and started to tune his guitar, hoping that his mind would leave the place it currently stood. Alex needed to get his mind out of this funk. He never got hung up on girls. To Alex, girls were like dust in the wind, floating by until one got attached until he got annoyed and flicked it away.

Rian watched Alex, never in the last year had he seen Alex this hung up on a girl. Anastasia quickly grew on all of the boys, her beautiful smile, and all of her witty comebacks made all of the boys quick to form a friendship with her. However, Alex fell hard for the girl and he had no idea how to get Anastasia off of his mind. Alex did not like this feeling, the feeling of falling for a girl that he would probably never have. Although they became friends, they talked about nothing, nothing that really mattered; Alex knew their was something Anastasia wouldn’t divulge to him. Alex wanted Anastasia to trust him, he wanted more than that with her, but of course he wouldn’t tell anyone that. Alex had a reputation to keep up.

“I’ll talk to her,” Jack said with shrug. “Hopefully, she’ll come on Saturday.” Alex nodded, he knew that he could probably talk her into coming to the gig but that would show that he actually cared about a girl and he couldn’t have that. “Enough about Anastasia, let’s get practicing for our show on Saturday.”

Practice went well and before they knew it, three hours passed and their parents were calling for them to come home. Alex sighed, he really did not want to go home but he didn’t have anywhere to go besides home, his parents hadn’t left for their business trip yet. Alex drove home quickly. His thoughts got away from him, thinking of ways to get over Anastasia. Alex thought about Caroline, a blond slut that he started sleeping with just before school started. A smirk came to his face, knowing he could easily manipulate her into coming to the show and easily get her in bed. Alex continued to think about Caroline and how he could use Caroline to make Anastasia jealous, but Anastasia did not seem like the type of girl who got jealous easily, but he could try.

Alex pulled into his driveway and went straight up to his bedroom, telling his parent he didn’t want to eat because he ate at Rian’s house. Alex looked at his back pack that laid next to his bed, untouched, “fuck,” he muttered, forgetting that he had homework to finish. Alex reached into his back pack and pulled his homework to start working on it. Alex laid on his stomach, finishing his homework, his eyes drifting over to his window his eyes catching Anastasia’s Mercedes drive passed his house. Alex absolutely adored that Mercedes and it helped that Anastasia knew how to drive a stick shift because that car couldn’t be an automatic.

Alex’s mind traveled back to Anastasia, the girl who has currently taken over his mind. Alex really needed to get over his feelings for this girl, but he had no idea how to get Anastasia off of his mind. Alex thought maybe this was a cute crush that he would get over eventually, well Anastasia showed no interest in anything more than just friendship. Then he thought about the kiss, the amazing kiss that they shared a week after the first time they actually talked. He knew this was not something he could just get over, especially once he realized that she wasn’t just a challenge anymore.

“Fuck this.”

Tomorrow I start my new healthy lifestyle. It was my New Years resolution but the 1st fell on a Tuesday and that's weird, so I begin tomorrow. I've become so unhealthy it's making me unhappy and I'm not okay with this, so the adventure starts tomorrow.
