Remember Me

“Are you going to tell me what happened?” Rian asked while they sat on his bed in silence. Alex stared at the wall for a while before looking to one of his best friends, the closest rational friend he had. Rian knew girls, he could hold a steady girlfriend for longer than a month and that’s an in his group of friends. Alex decided to go to Tiffany’s after the encounter with Anastasia but he couldn’t focus on Tiffany because Anastasia happened to run through his head the entire time. “Alex, I can’t help you dude. You need to tell me what the fuck happened.”

“Anastasia, you remember her?” Alex asked looking over to his somewhat chubby best friend; his perfect teeth making up for his baby fat, as Alex liked to call it.

“The really pretty one who freaked out on you?” Rian asked, remembering the pretty girl from his work from about a week ago, remembering that he gave Alex so much shit for not getting her number he laughed. Alex glared at him for minute before looking at his hands, “okay, what happened with her?”

Alex sighed and closed his eyes, “she fucking kissed me.” Rian’s eyes widened in shock, the girl did not seem like the type that would succumb to Alex’s tricks and games, “but then she slapped me.” Rian couldn’t help but laugh, earning him another glare from Alex, “anyways, I grabbed her and started kissing her again. It started to get pretty heated and then she ran away and now I can’t stop thinking about her and it’s pissing me off. I don’t think about girls like this; they’re never just running through my head. I call them when I need them but that’s it.” Alex fell back onto Rian’s bed with a huff, annoyed at his current situation; the fact that he started falling for a girl he barely knew.

Rian knew Alex, however true Alex’s previous statement had been, Rian also knew that this heartless asshole was not Alex but he played along. “I don’t know what you want me to say, Alex. I mean, she’s probably a good girl, but I don’t know her personally so I can’t give you any good advice on what to do. Maybe, you just need a good party to get your mind off of her, some alcohol would do you good.”

Alex shrugged, not knowing how or what to feel. A lot had changed in Alex’s life over the past year and he just didn’t know if he would become the old Alex again. The new Alex was fun and adventurous and the old Alex didn’t like fun, the new Alex had lots of girls chasing him and the old Alex chased a lot of girls away. “I don’t know. I just need to stop thinking about her or maybe if I just fuck her she’ll get out of my head. I think that’s it, I’m not used to girls not falling for my charm anymore. I know there’s a way.”

Rian rolled his eyes, “you’re an asshole.” Alex chuckled lightly and let a smirk come to his features. To everyone else Alex had no depth, nothing to him but his best friends could see right passed his façade. Alex kept an act up to protect himself and his friends were desperately trying to break the walls down, but no one could penetrate the outer layer. “Anyways, we have a show on Friday. Matt called before you got here to tell me.”

“That fuck, why doesn’t he call me?” Alex asked.

“Because you have no sense of responsibility,” Rian answered without hesitation. Alex opened his mouth to argue but then shut it knowing that Rian was right. “After the show I’m having the after-party,” Rian continued like he hadn’t answered Alex’s question. “Bring your call girls.”

“I’m only bringing one,” Alex told Rian. “They’re possessive and I’m not about drama.”

“That’s bullshit, you love drama,” Rian rolled his eyes.

“Fine,” Alex replied with a sigh, however he could go for a good girl fight over him, as long as he had all of the eyes on him. “Alright, bro, I’m going to head home,” Alex said checking the time on Rian’s clock. Rian only nodded and did a handshake before Alex left Rian’s bedroom and then house, yelling bye to Rian’s mom on his way out of the front door. Alex got into his car and drove home with his window down, letting the breeze hit his face.

Alex just wanted to be remembered, he wanted to be known for something, even if it is the ability to have any girl.

Uhm.........sorry you find Patriots fans irritating. Even though I am, I'm quite excited for the Super Bowl because it's going to be a good football game, and a great way for Ray Lewis to end his career.
Anyway, love this chapter and this story! It's great :)
Poor Ana. :(
