A Little Bit Chilly
Seven
Jack was nowhere in sight. I found it rude that this...dude would ask me to hang out, then not show up.
Of course, I was used to being stood up. Not a single guy I knew liked me, and I was accostumed to such things. Not that I cared. Lonliness was the way to be, wasn't it?
Still, I found myself standing around with a cup of beer. Searching the crowd for that skunk-haired cutie.
He was familiar. I could definitely place the band he was in: All Time Low. That much I had known.
At first, I couldn't remember. The face was familiar. All Time Low was huge in the industry. But, I kept in mind that our band was a heavy metal kind of deal; they were pop-punk, punk, whatever. Not what we were, that was for sure.
He wasn't anywhere to be seen. I sighed and leaned against one of the supports.
A warm summer breeze blew in. It was such a comfortable warm, I smiled to myself. I couldn't live without momentsl like those.
"Excuse me?" A voice said. It startled me from my reverie and I stumbled to the side, looked up.
A taller figure, his face darkened from the shadows the pillar was casting on it, was leaning over me. I could see the whites of his eyes. The outline of his hair was a messy mop of...nice. It wasn't bad hair.
"Um," I coughed, "hi."
"Hey. I'm Alex," the figure said. I stepped back a bit further. He followed, and the light leaked onto his face. He had a strong jaw, dark brown eyes, (As I noticed before) messy brown hair that came down across his forehead, lovely pink lips...
I stopped myself.
"Alex Gaskarth, is it?" I rasped. My throat was dry, so I took another sip of my drink.
He laughed. "Yeah. That's me. What's your name?"
I hestitated. Alex Gaskarth was the front man from All Time Low...was I right? I was pretty sure I had it right. Did that mean I could trust him?
"I'm Nikki."
Apparently so.
Alex's lips curved into an irresistable smile. This guy was definitely on my top 10 list of hot pieces of ass.
I could tell by the look in his eyes that he knew it. He knew how good looking he was, and he used that knowledge to his advantage.
I stepped back a bit more.
"Nice to meet you," Alex stuck out his hand gently. He was a gentle giant, too, it seemed. Or so he gave that impression.
"You too," I shook it delicately. "So...how's the tour been for you so far?"
Alex shrugged. "All right. I love Warped, though," he looked to the side. He was in a light blue sweatshirt and skinny jeans. His hands were shoved in the pockets, and I saw them stretch down as he bent forward, still looking at something to his right, and yawned.
He straightened up. "Anyway, tell me about your band....you're in a band right?" his eyebrow raised, and he made a face that looked silly to me.
"Yeah," I laughed, "I am. I'm a screamer slash singer. For Silence Of The Unwritten Beast."
"That's...a really cool name," he whispered. "Actually that's awesome as hell. Wanna sit down?"
I nodded. "Yeah. That'd be fine."
We sat. I told him everything.
