Secrets and Lies

Chapter Forty Eight

Jack's POV
Day before the wedding

I have no idea what time it is, where I am or what I'm drinking right now. All I know is Vic has dragged me out on a bar crawl for my final night as a free man, not that I'm going to complain about married life. In all honesty, I can't wait to spend my forever with Alex, I really can't.

Looking back on it now, our journey, it's been crazy, insane every...but I wouldn't change a single thing about it. Okay maybe one thing...trying to keep my pathetic little drug secret hidden, but that's been sorted now.

Currently, I was on my stag do, the Fall Out Boy and Pierce The Veil guys were here, Kellin too, but he didn't show up until much later. If tomorrow I was going to be tied down for the rest of my life, I was going to do tonight with a bang, Alex on the other hand was at home with Rian and Cass, probably playing Monopoly or some shit.

The bar was pretty abandoned by now so I'm guessing it's fairly late, there were us 10, two bar staff and 3 rather slutty looking girls trying to regain their posture whilst playing darts....being pissed and sharp metal objects? Maybe not a good idea, especially after seeing what happened next. The redhead walked right in front of the fucking dart mid air. Nice.

What wasn't nice was the brunette traipsing her way over and trying to make a move. "Hey sugar, whatcha drinking?" She purred, lips stretching into a perfect smile coated in sticky pink lipgloss.

I let my head fall as I smirked at my glass, "Jack and Coke....shouldn't you be helping her?"

I pointed to her friends, the redhead crying from being practically stabbed in the arm, mascara streaming down her face along with the tears making her look like a long lost member of Kiss.

"Probably, but I ain't gonna," she answered, fixating her gaze back on me. "The name's Ellie, nice to meet you."

She stuck her hand out, which I took and shook it in my own. "Jack."

"Jack drinking Jack, wow." She grinned, downing the rest of her cocktail.

"Yeah..." I trailed off, scratching the back of my neck in awkwardness.

"So, what brings you here on a night like this?" She asked after kindly buying two beers.

I opened the cap to mine and sat on the stool in front of me. "I'm actually getting married tomorrow."

Ellie was taken a back to say the least, she literally choked on her spit, wide eyed. "And this is how you decide to celebrate? Sitting at a bar alone? You know," she paused, taking a step closer to me so that our bodies were practically pressed together, "we could go someplace else....someplace, quiet."

By this point, she was breathing into my ear, admittedly, slightly turning me on. She stepped back, looking into my eyes with her electric blue ones, waiting to see if I would take her up on her offer.

"As pretty as you are, it's very obvious that you have some daddy issues, otherwise you wouldn't be throwing yourself at the first guy you see," I stated, taking another mouthful of my drink, "but I'm marrying the love of my life tomorrow, and I couldn't be happier. Thank, but no thanks."

The look on her face was priceless yet defeated. She downed the rest of her beer and skulked off back to her two friends, helping the redhead up off the floor and on to a chair.
I turned my attention away from her and looked in the other direction to see Patrick and Pete doing the macerena, Jaime was in a heated debate with Kellin about Warped Tour and everyone else just seemed to just be talking, beers in hands.

"KAREOKE!" Mike suddenly shouted, grabbing everyone's attention which was shortly followed by a unanimous agreement.

Not everyone participated which was a shame, it was only myself, Vic, Jaime, Kellin and after a lot of persuasion and coaxing from Pete, Patrick took centre stage, doing his rendition of Michael Jackson's Beat It and making the rest of us look shockingly bad.
After that, we all grouped up into two teams, well, the people that wanted to sing anyway, group one was me, Pete and Jaime, and group two being Vic, Patrick and Kellin. We devised a drinking game in which the bartender would pick which team performed better after doing one song each, the losing team took 5 shots, one after the other.

Team Barakat was up first singing The Pretender, I hit bum notes, Pete forgot the lyrics despite them being on screen in front of him, and Jaime kept dropping his mic. Yeah, we sucked.
Team Fuentes got up after us, doing American Idiot and I'm starting to wonder who set the fucking teams up like this, I mean, all the lead singers together? Slightly unfair if you ask me.
As I assumed, team Fuentes won nearly every round, meaning my team were now shitfaced, I think we won one song, and that was only because Patrick threw up and Kellin was in the background.

SCORE FOR TEAM BARAKAT.

A couple more hours had passed, we were still in the same bar, everyone except Vic and I were now passed out and my head was spinning.

"Hey, yo dude," he slurred, sitting on the corner couch next to me. "

"Mhm?"

"F-for your last night, you totally need to try this.." He dug around in the pocket of his leather jacked before pulling out a small, plastic pouch.

My eyes widened immediately as I understood what he meant.

"No! No fucking way!"

Vic rolled his eyes and grabbed my forearm sternly. "Jack, live a little would ya? One tiny pill won't kill you."

I yanked my arm out of his grip, giving him my best death stare. "That's not the point, point is, I promised Lex I wouldn't eve do drugs again-"

"It's not a drug, so it's fine, it just makes you.....relax."

"Relax?" I repeated.

"Yeah, it's fine too, I've taken them before, trust me, you'll be fine. And Alex never has to know."

I paused, eying the pills carefully, all of the memories came flooding back to me, the feeling of the withdrawal creeping up on me. The need and want was overwhelming, I looked back up at Vic and gulped.

"You promise this stays between us?"

"I promise."

@justXanotherXsoul
AWWWW THIS WAS SO CUTE! Thank you so so much, I have the biggest smile ever on my face now, gahhh! :3 Seriously ahh, this story isn't best well written, but I'm so glad you like it :')

I refuse to remember reading the last chapter. NO NO NO JACK LIVED AND THEY GOT MARRIED. JACK LIVED AND THE WEDDING WAS BEAUTIFUL AND WENT ACCORDING TO PLAN. IT WAS BETTER THAN THEY IMAGINED IT EVER WOULD BE.
(Okay but to comment about something else and avoid my feels) This was very beautifully written. You are a fabulous writer and I hope that one day you publish books and become ridiculously famous. Like world wide famous. People from Canada, US, Russia... just everywhere, THE WORLD SHALL KNOW YOUR NAME AND WORSHIP YOU.
Sorry, got a little carried away there. Hahaha! But yeah, I love your writing and I wanted you to know. ^-^
