Secrets and Lies

Chapter Two

-Alex POV-

Ah, my final client of the day, see, told you Tuesday's were easy. Although, I couldn't quite believe who it was, I recognized him immediately, Jack Barakat. One of the most saute after musicians, playing on loads of artist's albums, writing for record labels and constantly touring with my favourite bands such as Blink, New Found Glory, Green Day and Jimmy Eat World.

I was kind of star struck. But I had to be professional.

''That's me, I'm Alex'' I said smiling. ''If you would like to follow me so we can get started.''

I led him towards the basins so I could wash his hair, which already looked pretty good, it was a very dark brown, with a blonde patch in the middle, known to the world as ''the skunk.'' It's something no one would really think of doing to their hair, it was pretty odd, but it kinda looked good on him, sorta. I don't know.

I put the towel around his shoulders and started running the water, running my fingers through his hair. This was the part I hated, the awkward hairdresser small talk. ''Lovely weather isn't it Mr Barakat?'' I could hear him sniggering.

''Yeah I s'pose,'' he chuckled. ''You really don't have to make small talk with me Alex, it's not necessary.''

''It's all part of the job''' I replied, lathering up his hair.

I carried on chatting away, about recent sport events, what we'd got up to at the weekend, but he didn't really say much, he just kinda stared at me via the mirror opposite, which was weird as hell. ''Okay,'' I said, wrapping a soft black towel around his head. ''This way please.'' I gestured, walking slowly in front of him, leading him to my station and pulling the chair out.

-Jack POV-

Man this Alex guy was hot. And he was touching my head....unfortunately not the right head, but it was a start I suppose.

I sat down in the swively chair, immediately trying not to pin around on it like a child. Alex started pulling a comb through my hair, it was the perfect mix between gently and rough.

''So, what do you want me to do?'' Alex asked, looking at my reflection in the mirror.

I'm assuming he's gay because, c'mon, a guy hairdresser, really?

''Uhmm, just a re-dye, trim and style please gorgeous,'' Surely he knows I'm gay, right? That's one of the reasons I'm talked about so much, because I'm so damn attractive and the ladies can't have me. I looked up at Alex who looked like someone had just flicked the end of his nose, one eyebrow was raised and had frozen. Hmm, I guess he didn't know. I snapped out of it and shook his head.

''O-okay, let me go and get some dye,'' he said quickly before scurrying off.

He returned a couple of minutes later with the bowls of dye and brushes. ''So, Alex.''

''So, Jack'' he said, mimicking my voice, a cheeky smile on his face, mixing up the dye.

I smirked. ''What's the deal, I mean, with being a hairdresser and all,''

I could see disappointment in his face, but he seemed to shrug it off. ''A job's a job.'' He smiled cheerfully.

I could sense he didn't want to talk about it as he went quiet, so I didn't ask him anymore and just shut up for a while. After washing off the dye, he began snipping away at the ends, humming to himself, unaware he was doing it.

''I toured with them yanno,'' I muttered, breaking the silence. Alex looked up at me, confused. ''Blink,'' I said, nodding at his vest top.

''Oh, right! I know, I was actually there at one of their gigs,''

That kicked off our small talk big time, I even swear Alex slowed himself down so that we could talk longer. After he blow dried my hair, I walked over to the front desk to pay.

''Would you like to be booked in again, Jack?'' He asked, looking up free appointments on the computer. OF COURSE, stupid question. I wanted to see Alex again, he was beautiful, and I just all around wanted him.

''I want to see your beautiful face as soon as possible, so yes, yes I do. When is okay for you?'' I asked Alex, beaming. Again, he winced at my compliments, which was hurtful. No one is ever like this at me, I'm not used to it. I'm used to people throwing themselves at me...I didn't like this one bit, I didn't like not knowing where I stand. ''Alex, are you gay?'' I asked.

His eyes widened and his face turned red. ''OUT!'' he screamed, pushing me out of the door and locking it behind me. I looked through the glass and saw him run up the stairs punching the wall as he went.

I'll take that as a ''fuck off'' then.

(Okay but to comment about something else and avoid my feels) This was very beautifully written. You are a fabulous writer and I hope that one day you publish books and become ridiculously famous. Like world wide famous. People from Canada, US, Russia... just everywhere, THE WORLD SHALL KNOW YOUR NAME AND WORSHIP YOU.
Sorry, got a little carried away there. Hahaha! But yeah, I love your writing and I wanted you to know. ^-^
