Alex POV
I was greeted with a massive hug from May. “How’s Jacky?” she asked “mummy tells me he is very poorly and that only big boys and girls can visit him is that right?”
“He will be okay. Don’t worry May your mummy is right only big boys and girls can visit him. You might be able to visit him when he is a bit better” That’s when Joyce walked in. Tom drove me back to the hospital. I fell asleep at Jacks bedside again. I was woken in the morning by someone yelling at me and hitting me with a pillow.
“Oi Gaskarth gets the hell up now I want a kiss” I was relieved to see him awake and gave him a kiss.
“How are you babe?” I asked
“Fine” He replied “although me head is a bit sore” He moved his hand to find a bandage there. “What happened why have I got a bandage on my head?”
“They had to remove a clot from your brain”
“I’m surprised they found a brain” He Joked
“Well at least you are okay now “
“Yea is glad as well you must have been so worried. Anyway why are you not in school” he asked
“Because I didn’t want to leave you”
“Aww Thank you” Jack told me giving me a kiss.
“Would you like me to ring your mum and get her to bring May in for you, she has been dying to see you”
“Yea she will love it “I went out the room and rang Joyce she answered on the first ring.
“Hi Joyce”
“Hi Alex”
“Jacks awake now. I have asked him he would like to see May”
“Okay I will bring her down” Then she hung up a few minutes later came through the doors.
“Jacky are you better now. Mommy and Alex told me that you were too poorly for me to come and see you. What happened? You look funny with the bandage on your head. Why do you have it? May asked.
“Yes I am a bit better. I fell down some stairs at school. I have a bandage on my head because the doctors needed to cut it to make it better. I guess I do look funny with a bandage on my head” Jack told her.
“That was silly falling down the stairs”
“I know it was May sometimes I can be silly.”
“Right May time to go home” Joyce told her
“Can we come back tomorrow mommy?”
“Yes we can” May and Joyce left the room
“Why did you and mom tell May that she couldn’t see me” Jack asked
“It was your mum decision she thought May seeing you connected up to a ventilator might be distressing for her.”
“Oh, I didn’t realize I was that bad” The doctor walked in.
“Right Mr Barakat we need to take you for a scan.” They then wheeled Jacks bed out the room and down the corridor. When he came back he seemed really happy.
“Guess what Lex?” He asked “The doctor told me if the scans clear I can go home in a couple of days”
“That’s fabulous news babe” I told him giving him a kiss.
