Get On Your Knees and Tell Me That You Love Me

Battle Fields.

We picked up Molly on the way to the laser tag building. Molly never actually met the other guys besides Jack, so I thought why not? I needed a girl on my team anyways.

She wedged herself in the backseat between the door and I. She smiled at me, and then at the guys. "Are we going to Zoom's?" She asked me.

Zoom's was the local laser tag arena, or whatever. It was famous in Ohio for the largeness of it, and usually had a pretty large amount of players.

I nodded. "Just keep going straight," I told Alex, who was driving. "Anyways, guys, this is my sister."

"Hey." Molly said in a nonchalant voice.

To be honest, I was sort of hoping for a freak out. Molly admired these guys when they were our age, and now she only would say hey?

'I'm Alex," He said, looking back at her. "Are you older or younger?"

"Older. But only by a year."

"I'm Zack."

She did an quick smile (even though she couldn't even see him).

"Rian's usually here, but he actually left about a week ago." Jack said.

~

We ended up getting spilt apart in line. I was on the blue team with Zack, and Molly. Alex, and Jack were on the red team. There was some little kids on the teams, and even older kids. I tried to pretend like I didn't notice, because they surely didn't, a older girl taking a picture of Jack, and Alex with her phone.

We filed in. Loud music started to ring in my eyes. Molly grabbed my forearm, dragging me to the base. I looked at Zack, who took off.

We started shooting. Lasers flew everywhere. Angry preteens yelled cuss words at us.I giggled, following Molly.

"Macy, duck!" Molly shouted.

I followed her orders, dropping my butt to the ground. I heard a zap, and looked over. A chubby kid looked down at his vest, which had went from a solid red light, to a died down, beeping. I stood up, walking over to Macy. "You, you saved me." I whispered.

She shrugged. "What are sisters for?" She giggled.

I glanced behind me, making sure none of the red team were around. "We have to spilt up!"

"We'll die out there!"

"It's the only way. Stay safe." I looked into her eyes before running off.

I shot a lot more people, and managed to be safe for a while. I passed Alex, who was standing by a little girl, who was crying.

"Listen, kid! This is laser tag, you WILL be shot- no, stop crying! Oh my god!"

I shot him. He looked at his vest, then up at me. The little girl stopped crying. "Macy, you're so dead."

I ran off, unsure of what I was really aiming to do. Shoot everyone? What was I, a monster?

I wondered where Zack was. He was probably dominating at this, shooting everyone. Oh man, was Molly shot yet? Or was she hiding? How was I still unharmed, anyways? On other occasions, I would be shot within 20 seconds.

Finally, I ended up at a dome looking thing. It had red flashing lights, and fog in it. I walked in, inspecting. I probably shouldn't have been in there. People were most likely watching me, waiting to pounce.

The fog wrapped around my ankles. I looked around, gun in hand, waiting to shoot.

"Macy."

I turned around slowly, giving a cheeky smile. "Jack."

His white t-shirt glowed under the glowing lights. He gave a toothy smile. He walked around me. "What are you doing in here?"

I shrugged, turning with him. I had to keep an eye on him. He might have been my love, but he was still dangerous. I shrugged. "What any solider would do."

"I'm in love with the enemy," he threw his head back, and laughed.

I cocked my head to the side. "Don't let love get in the way of this. You know what you need to do, Jack. Do it for your team."

He put his hands on either side of my shoulders. He stared into my eyes. "We could run away, Macy. Get away from this lifestyle. It could be you and I, you and I forever. We could start a new life, new names, everything. I could be named Paul, for all I care! Macy, run away with me."

Part of me didn't know if he was talking about the game anymore. "Jack, I can't ask you to do that. This life is all we have-"

"Exactly. It's all we have."

I didn't know what to say, so I stared at him, speechless.

He looked up suddenly. He gaped, and threw me behind him.

I heard a zap, and stared at whatever was there. Finally, Alex came in view, holding a gun. Jack fell to the ground dramatically.

"Jack!" I cried out. I fell to my knees. I looked back up to Alex. "What did you do!"

Alex held the gun back out, pointing it at my chest. His vest was now regenerated.

I slowly got up, holding my hands up. I dropped my gun, and it hit my shaking knees. "What are you doing, Alex?"

"You made me shoot my best friend, and you shot me, and my teammates. This has to stop, Macy."

"Alex, please," I begged.

"I'm sorry, Macy." He said, with a sad frown.

I pressed my back against the wall, wincing. Nothing happened. I peeked out of one eye. Alex's vest was fading. He looked down, and stumbled to the ground. Molly stood behind him, blowing the top of her gun, as if it was smoking.

"No!" Alex cried out. "No.."

"GAME OVER." a loud, deep voice came through the speakers.

"Good game, guys." Alex said, shooting up.

"Where's Zack?" Jack asked, reaching for my hand.

~

We got dinner at the diner where Jack and I went the day after we met.

"Where were you, Zack? We were all having a dramatic moment, and you weren't there!" Alex sipped on a glass of Sprite.

"Oh, I was there. Who do you think shot you?" He raised his eyebrows.

Molly opened her mouth, about to talk.

Zack started talking before she made a sound. "Molly missed. I was standing behind her, and backed her up. If it wasn't for me, you all would bowing down to this arrogant asshole over here." He nudged Alex with his shoulder.

We'll have to see how the ending turns out! If it ends up going as I plan, there wouldn't be a cliff hanger, so it wouldn't need a sequel. But i can always go a complete 180°! thanks for your feed back:)
I loved this update. You should write a sequel when you finish this. Good job.
