Two hours later Alex is woken up by the sound of someone scrambling around, he opens his eyes and rolls over, his eye instantly land on jack who is stumbling trying to get his socks on.

Alex stays quiet as he watches Jack struggle to get he converse on and fall over, when he gets back up that’s when Alex decides to make Jack aware he is awake.

He clears his throat and Jack jumps ‘shit’ he mumbles as turns and faces Alex.

Jacks expression is unreadable, that’s when a single tear rolls down Alex’s cheek, he sits up and wipes it away, still looking at Jack.

‘Alex, i-i-i’,

Alex cut him off. ‘Cut the crap Jack, I’m sorry I woke up and disturbed you leaving’

Alex walked towards the kitchen wiping away the tears that were still rolling, he picked up the bottle of vodka and took a swig,

Jack followed him in, ‘it’s not what it looks like’,

‘oh really Jack? It’s not what it looks like? So you weren’t just leaving me? You weren’t just walking out? Without even waking me up’ Alex snarled.

Jack looked hurt, ‘I was going to leave you a note, explaining’

Alex laughed out loud. ‘A NOTE? A fucking note? You were going to leave a note, how nice of you Jack, confess your love for me and then leave me, while I’m sleeping and you think a note will be fine? Good to know Jack, now just leave already’

Jack tries to take Alex’s hands in his own, but not before Alex pulls away and walks out the room,

‘Alex wait let me explain’,

‘Jack just leave the note you wanted to, that will be enough, I don’t have a heart or feelings its fine, just go’

Alex lays face down on the sofa and sighs, he waits to hear the door close, when he doesn’t he lifts his head up and looks to the side, Jack is sat there smiling at him.
‘why haven’t you left yet?’ Alex asks coldly.

‘you can be so silly sometimes, just hear me out okay?’ when Alex doesn’t answer Jack takes it as his cue to carry on.

‘I was leaving, yes, but I wasn’t leaving you, and this note I was leaving, was going to explain where I was and where you could find me, Lex I do love you, I don’t want you to think anything different, just stop being so stubborn.’

Alex stares at Jack, after a few minutes pass of Alex trying to work out whether Jack is telling to truth he finally speaks up, ‘im sorry for freaking out, but what else am I supposed to think Jack? So.. so you weren’t leaving me but you were leaving me, where are you going?’

‘I cant tell you that Lex, if you had let me leave, it would all become clear, but I don’t want to leave now, I know I made you sad and I want to make it right.’

He leans forward and kisses Alex softly, Alex deepens the kiss and wraps his arm around Jacks neck. He moans into Jack mouth and Jack smiles.

Alex takes advantage of the smile and snakes his tongue into Jacks mouth, it’s quickly met by Jack eager waiting tongue, they continue to kiss as their tongues entwine, until they both are breathless and need to come up for air.

Looking into each others eyes and trying to breathe properly. Alex pulls Jack up and then down, so that Jack is lying on top of him. Jack holds his weight with his arms either side of Alex’s head, Alex is looking at Jack longingly, Jack instantly recognises the look, it’s lust.

Alex runs his hands down Jacks sides causing him to shiver, he rests his hands on Jacks hips and starts to play with the waistband of his jeans, when Alex starts pushing at it, Jack stops him,

‘Alex, we can’t, not right now anyway, I have to be somewhere’

when Alex pouts Jack kisses him softly, pulling away he says ‘and as a matter of fact, so do you’ Jack abruptly gets up with a jump and pulls Alex to his feet too.

‘now get upstairs and have a shower and get dressed, when you come back down, I’m taking you out.’ Jack winks and Alex and pushes him forward, as Alex passes he slaps him on the ass. Alex lets out a squeak, but continues up stairs.

After half an hour passes, Alex finally makes his way downstairs. The house is quite, which is unusual, Jack usually makes too much noise for one person, just sitting down, he never could sit still.

‘Jack?’ Alex asks, turning on the light for the living room, he wasn’t there, Alex searches all over the downstairs of the house, Jack is nowhere.

Alex sighs and sits down, he looks around the room one more time and then sees that there is a piece of paper stuck to the front door, he walks over to it and starts to read it: ‘Alex, don’t freak out, I haven’t left you, you will see me soon, all you have to do is come to old boys village, (the place we used to practice) I have a surprise waiting for you. Jacky xx’

Alex laughs, as if he wouldn’t remember the old boys village, the abandoned school they practically lived there with Rian and Zack when they were younger, its where they used to have band practice, back in the good days.

With one last look in the mirror Alex leaves the house, and makes his way to where Jack is. He has no idea what the surprise Jack mentioned was, all he knew was that Jack was now his, and he still had his reason to live, even if none of his friends were speaking to him, he had Jack.

As Alex walks down the lane towards the opening in the bushes to get to the old boys village he suddenly notices how dark it is, walking into the clearing freaks him out not only is it dark its also quiet, too quiet.

Alex walks towards the old school entrance he can hear people moving about but cant see anything ‘J-JACK’ he shouts , ‘Jack where are you? I swear to god if your’

Alex is cut off when all of a sudden there is a scream of ‘SURPRISE’ and car headlights being turned on.

Alex is left standing speechless and everyone crowds round him with cheers of ‘Happy Birthdays’.

He walks dazed through the crowd of his friends until he sees Jack, he locks eyes with him and smiles, Jack waves and starts to walk towards him.

‘Hey baby, happy birthday’ Jack says as he presses his lips to Alex’s.

Alex smiles ‘Did you plan this?’

Jack smiles and nods, ‘and so did some others’ he looks over to corner of the hall they are now standing in, he points to Emma, who is talking to Zack and Rian.

Alex hugs Jack quickly and rushes over to Emma.

When Emma sees him she smiles and they meet in a death squeeze.

Emma pulls back and looks up at Alex ‘I’m sooo sorry I ignored you the other day, but you have to understand, I couldn’t talk to you I would have told you about this party and the fact that Jack loves you, you know I cant keep anything from you, you’re my best friend’

Alex laughs at her worried expression, ‘Do you forgive me?’ she asks sheepishly.

Alex pulls her into another hug and nods his head ‘Of course I do, how could I not? You planned this amazing party for me’

Emma smiles ‘that’s okay then, let’s go dance’ she pulls Alex along towards to the empty pool, where everyone seems to be dancing.

The music is blaring, the alcohol is flowing and everyone is smiling and having a good time.

Alex is standing against the wall watching everyone having fun, he can’t believe his luck, he finally has the man he loves and he has amazing friends.

He watches as Emma is pulled up to dance by Jack, they are laughing and smiling and having a good time.

Alex makes his way over to them. He wraps his arms around Jacks waist and kisses his cheek. ‘I love you’


Jack turns around in his arms and smiles at him, ‘love you too’ He kisses Alex softly.
