Remembering Sunday
Chapter 11
"W-what're we doing out here? It's still raining"
I quieted him with a soft kiss and sat him down in front of me on the porch swing. I wrapped the blanket around him since it was pretty chilly outside and situated my shiney black guitar on my lap.
"I used to always play this song for my little sister when it was storming. I don't know why, but she liked it a lot and it helped her get to sleep at times like these and I was going to play it for you cause I also really like this song."
Jack nodded and crossed his legs in front of him and automatically smiled when the first few notes chimed in.
"Breathe in for luck, breathe in so deep. This air is blessed, you share with me. This night is wild, so calm and dull. These hearts, they race from self-control. Your legs are smooth as they graze mine. We're doing fine, we're doing nothing at all"
Jack giggled and I continued to sing.
"My hopes are so high that your kiss might kill me. So won't you kill me so I die happy. My heart is yours to fill or burst, or break or bury, or wear as jewelry, whichever you prefer"
Jack laid his head back on the chain and snuggled up to the blanket when I reached near the end of the song and me and my sisters favorite part which I thought described me and Jacks relationship a bit.
"Hands down, this is the best day I can ever remember, I'll always remember the sound of the stereo. The dim of the soft lights, the scent of your hair, That you twirled in your fingers
and the time on the clock, when we realized it's so late. And this walk that we shared together. And the streets were wet and the gate was locked, so I jumped it and I let you in.
And you stood at your door with your hands on my waist, and you kissed me like you meant it. And I knew that you meant it, that you meant it, that you meant it. And I knew that you meant it, that you meant it"
I sighed and looked up to see Jack tearing up and lunged for me attacking me with kisses. I laughed and pushed him off me softly so I could set my guitar down on the ground and I pulled him back on top of my chest and mindlessly drew patterns on his back and ran my fingers through his hair . Soon enough I was hearing his soft snores and light breathing on my neck so I moved him gently to where I was carrying him bridal style and walked him up the stairs to our bedroom and laid him gently on my side of the bed and covered him up with the blankets. I wrote him a note on the side of the bed that said I had to leave to go to the station but I would pick him up at lunch time cause we were having a brother/sister day at the station and I wanted him to meet my little sister and everybody elses little sisters.
Surprisingly everybody at the station had a little sister ages ranging from 6 to 16 or didn't even have a brother or sister. So it was going to be a hectic girl day. I laughed to myself and kissed Jack softly on the forehead and then his cheek whispering "sleep well beautiful" and walked down the stairs and grabbed my keys to head to the station.
Notes
So yeah, short chapter. Sorry :c I'm pretty tired and still getting over a bad migrane from last night. But yes, the song Alex played my brother always played for me when it'd rain and I couldn't sleep when I was younger. He still plays it for me sometimes when he brings his guitar over but it's such a sentimental song for the both of us cause I grew up around that song and the band cause of him. Really anything by Dashboard Confessionals. So i'm probably going to be using a lot of their lyrics in this story.
Let me know how it is! c:
