(Alex's POV)

Being a firefighter was a interesting job. Everyone in my station has had our own fair share of laughs, scares, and tears.

Yeah, I know what you're thinking. Firefighters don't cry! But man that's far from wrong. Some people in my station are made more of steal than others but as for me, I'm the softy of the group. But I can hide my emotions until i'm left alone.

You see, loosing somebody close to you is hard. But it's not something that should hold you back from doing things you love in life. So that's why I am here today.

Baltimore, Maryland Station 7 Fire Department.

"Alex!"

I turned my head to see my Captain Davis walking to me, so I stand up facing him.

"Yes, Captain?"

"I need you to stay in tonight with Dawson and Merrick, okay? There is a firework show going on tonight and I really need a few more of you guys to stay on call tonight just in case, okay? The rest of the guys are sleeping and Dawson 'n Merrick are playing Mario Kart. So finish up what you are doing here and get started cleaning up"

Captain Davis turned on his heals before giving me enough time to say anything else to him. When I was positive he was out of ears reach, I slammed my fists down on the table screaming profanities cause fuck, it was a Sunday afternoon and all I wanted to do was go home and curl up on the couch and watch 'The Vow'.

I sighed and walked over to the broom closet opening up the door and grabbing something. Can you guess it? Yes? No? Oh well. It's a broom! And started to sweep up to floors debating how I was going to survive this long night.
