It's kind of a Cinderella story. Charlie dreams of being a successful musician but is stuck working for his stepdad and brothers at his mom's restaurant after she dies. Katie is a musician working at a label her dad runs, while he and his assistant control her career and she just wants to sing her own songs and be herself. They meet and bond over music and how they both lost their mom, Katie invites him to a party her dad's throwing but his stepdad sees the invite but this couple that also works for his stepdad helps him be able to go. It's a masked party and Charlie performs. But when Charlie has to leave he drops his demo track and Katie finds it. Basically your classic Cinderella story
